As stated by David and Stephen, “pop music has always deemed upon the interaction between of white and black tradition”. This may suggest that popular music is from both white and black. It may be a combination of all cultures mixed together. For example, Elvis Presley was one of the most successful men of all time because of his ability to sing gospel music.
In addition, artist nowadays like to combine things together whether you are black or white. This is supported by Berry, as he also states that are different music genre and different race in music so whether the artist is black or white it doesn't matter.

I was driving home from lecture, sitting in traffic, as I look around I noticed a restaurant called Giraffe, it advertised, “World Music”! I started to asked myself world music really can be any form of music. It is considered to be global.
“,,,Popular music essentially becomes established as the accepted standard global template”.

So in order to become Global/ World music it is believed that the most successful ones are usually sang in English and and that every song at some point would have been in the local music category.

World music should have a wide range of audiences, in which must people would have heard of i.e. The Beatles.

Week 5

Popular music is often looked at as mass produced commodity and can be a simple form of art. The word art relates to our senses and emotion. This can include expression from music, literature, film and paintings.

Theodor Adorno considers that, ‘popular music industry is an all consuming production line’. This may suggest that the music industry is a man eat man world. It has been created to simply make profit from its audience.
